1. Introduction: What are IIM Bangalore UG Programmes?


IIM Bangalore is all set to launch its two 4-year (in-person, fully residential) undergraduate programmes from 2026-27:


  • B.Sc. (Hons) in Economics (with a Minor in Data Science & Business Studies)

  • B.Sc. (Hons) in Data Science (with a Minor in Economics & Business Studies)


These are not regular BBA-style courses. Instead, they are highly analytical, multidisciplinary programmes focusing on research, quantitative skills, and leadership.


👉 Only 80 seats in total (40 in each programme), ensuring a close-knit, competitive, and personalized environment.

3. Eligibilit

  • Age Limit: Must be 20 years or below as of 1 August 2026.

  • Academics:

    • Must have passed Class XII (or equivalent) from a recognized board.

    • Mathematics is compulsory in Class XII.

    • Minimum 60% in Class X Mathematics.


4. Selection Process

The selection has two stages:


  1. Entrance Test — Primary shortlisting tool.

  2. Final Composite Score = 60% Entrance Test + 40% Personal Interview.


Entrance Test Pattern:

  • Duration: 120 minutes

  • Total Questions: 60 (MCQs)

  • Sections:

    • English Comprehension – 15 questions

    • Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation – 30 questions

    • Logical Reasoning – 15 questions


  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd deduction for wrong answers


Personal Interview Criteria:

  • Academic consistency

  • Motivation & clarity of thought

  • Communication skills

  • Intellectual curiosity

  • Extracurriculars

  • Integrity & authenticity


5. Academic Structure

  • A 4-year integrated curriculum with majors + minors.

  • Strong foundation in Economics, Data Science, and Business Studies.

  • Research opportunities, case studies, capstone projects, and faculty mentorship.

  • Continuous evaluation: quizzes, assignments, projects, presentations, exams.

  • Exit option after 3rd year under specific conditions.


6. Campus Life

  • Fully residential — students must stay on campus.

  • Location: Jigani Campus, about 30 km from IIMB’s main Bannerghatta campus.

  • Facilities: Modern classrooms, computer labs, library, hostels, dining, and sports.

  • A world-class new campus is being developed for future batches.


7. Fees & Scholarships


  • Programme Fee: ₹8.5 lakh per year (includes tuition, hostel, exam fee).

  • Mess/Food charges: Approx. ₹8,000–10,000 per month (separate).

  • Entrance Exam Fee:


    • General / EWS / NC-OBC – ₹3,000

    • SC / ST / PwD – ₹1,500

  • Need-based scholarships will be provided.
